Despite its title, this short piece in rondo form is not taken from any larger work. It was composed in 1937, and also exists in a version for flute (or violin) and guitar. The style of the piece is clearly influenced by Ibert's earlier travels in Spain, with chord sequences typical of Spanish guitar playing.
